Lockheed chair by Riot + Sollier

You think you’ve seen this chair somewhere before, it reminds you of a “well-known” chair, but it isn’t quite the same! The Lockheed chair had the DSW chair by Charles and Ray Eames on purpose as its starting point. The entire concept of the Lockheed chair is to develop the DSW chair and modernize it according to Benjamin Riot and Valentin Sollier who are the designers of this project.

Scenography Apartment in Bucharest by AA Studio

Romanian architectural office AA Studio united two mirroring apartments in Bucharest the capital city, industrial and financial centre of Romania, to create a living space of 400 square meters. The transformation of the apartments into one single space led to spectacular results; it created a situation which exists through and from light. AA Studio strongly believes and we could only agree with them, that interior design is more than just choosing products from more or less luxurious catalogs. It is a process of selecting appealing objects and integrating them in a harmonious way with the surrounding environment.

Copenhagen Design Week 2009

Copenhagen Design Week is an international event that presents new ideas, knowledge and products – design that generates possibilities for a changing world. For one week, established and new design events are brought together and strengthened to provoke, excite and inspire. As a prelude to COP15 (the UN Climate conference that will be held later in the year), the theme will be sustainable design. Copenhagen Design Week takes place for the first time from 27 August to 6 September 2009.
