K2’s ‘Eco’ is an environmentally friendly pair of inline skates which bring together naturally occurring and recyclable materials. The skates are constructed with a bamboo frame for the wheels. Since bamboo absorbs and reduce road vibrations it provides users with a smooth ride. The boot of the skates is composed of fibers made from ground-down plastic water bottles. In addition to being used in the fabric, the recycled bottles also have been used in the skate’s laces, skate liners, webbing and mesh.

House in Nagoya 01 by Suppose Design Office

nagoya

This house located in Nagoya city has three functions: a flower shop, an art gallery and living quarters. Here, these three spaces which are normally separated, break the unseen barriers and integrate with each other. With flowers displayed in the gallery, they become art. With art in the flower shop, it becomes closer to life. With the living quarters blending with the shop space, the time it takes to arrange flowers becomes richer. With the display space in the art gallery crossing an invisible border line, we even wanted to cross the borders that define ‘home’. On the north face of the property, an elementary school provides an unchanging environment for the future. This property, which looks out onto the schoolyard, offers an enjoyable view of the trees and flowers that have been planted there.

Our thurst for design has led us this time at Ireland. We are proud to present you Trevor Vaugh and Nic Shannon, the designers behind vaughshannon studio that have left us amazed with their inspired creations. Although their studio was established in Dublin in 2007, they have a very interesting trajectory and their products, since their acclaimed debut at Tent London, are featured in numerous publications worldwide. They say that clarity, functionality and wit are the core guiding principles behind every vaughshannon work. Their goal is to create functional products that offer more than just pleasing aesthetics; they must integrate into their new owner’s lifestyle and environment seamlessly, whilst at the same time adding a subtle level of personality, wit and intrigue. And we couldn’t agree more!
