Platoon Kunsthalle opened its doors on 11th april 2009. Platoon Kunsthalle is set up in seoul as a space for subculture in Asia. its programmatic orientation towards cultural movements beneath the radar creates a dynamic space where new ideas are born and presented. The platoon Europe headquarters in berlin was established in 2000. it runs diverse culture and communication projects in cooperation with an international community of 3,500 creatives from all different professions.

Mac Motorcycles
Mac Motorcycles are a new brand that has been established by Xenophya Design and Ellis Pitt. Made in 4 differnt models, the small range of lightweight, air cooled singles use the 500cc buell blast motor in a tubular backbone frame. The company initially plans to produce a few hundred bikes in small batches increasing production as appropriate.

BIG to Design Tallinn’s New City Hall
An international idea contest was held for Tallinn’s new City Hall in Estonia, and the best concept was presented by the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) from Denmark together with Adams Kara Taylor of the UK.
The purpose of the international idea contest was to find the best architectural solution for the new administrative building of the city government that will be situated on a 35,000 m2 (370,000 sf) plot near the Linnahall building. The contest for the new city was met with a great interest, 81 architects and their teams were willing to present an entry. Of those, the international jury chose the best 9 to shortlist as finalists into the second phase of the competition. By May 15, the finalists handed in their final solutions. The international jury’s decision to award BIG’s entry first place in the competition was unanimous and was presided by the vice mayor Taavi Aas.

Smart Fortwo Electric
After a successful series of trials in London, Daimler has just announced that the Smart Fortwo Electric is officially ready for small series production! The all-electric version of everyone’s favorite ultra-efficient minicar will feature a 41 hp Zytek electric motor capable of propelling it up to zippy top speed of 60mph with a range of 72 miles, making it perfect for inner-city driving and daily commutes.

In bathroom with COCO
Paola Navone and Michael Schmidt design for Italian bathroom design company Falper. COCO, Menhir, Peace Hotel, George and Scoop are their new collections. A collection characterised by sophisticated polished, lacquered textures in black and white, clearly inspired by the innovative elegance of legendary Coco Chanel. A collection created by Paola Navone for the woman who recognises unique style, and wishes to surround herself with items giving character to classic and modern environments, giving rise to timeless refinement. Deliberately retro style the pedestal ceramic washbasin and ground glass oval mirrors. Dimensions respectively 80cm x h100cm, and 160cm x h80cm.
