Sajt, bor és jó hangulatú szakmai beszélgetés kíséretében búcsúzott a Lánchíd utcai üzletétől a Pointzero. A helyszínbúcsúztató eseményen a cég egyrészt a hónap végén megrendezésre kerülő Belgrádi Design Hét hazai promótálását hivatott elősegíteni magyar partnerként, másrészt a Milánói Design Hét tapasztalatairól és érdekes eseményeiből csemegéztek a meghívott szakemberek és kiállítók.

Soft is the New Cool: Hungarian Designers at New York Design Week

As part of the yearlong Extremely Hungary festival, the Hungarian Cultural Center will present 17 emerging Hungarian designers during New York Design Week, from May 16-19. As they showcase their newest products, the designers will invite New Yorkers to discover a sensual approach to interactive, graphic, furniture, jewelry, glass, ceramics, fashion and accessories design and architecture. All the designs in the exhibition are inspired by softness in various fashions.  Softness may refer to the material—its touch or visual aspect, or to the concept. (more…)

Grey Goose bar by Puresang

Antwerp designers Puresang have completed the interior of a bar at the headquarters of vodka brand Grey Goose in Brussels, Belgium. The bar features a faceted wall composed of blue, triangular mirror-tiles and has a conference table at one end of the bar.

Sixinch:’La MDF’ Chair

Belgian brand Sixinch have designed ‘La MDF’- an indoor chair. Made with medium density fibreboard, all pieces were created using optimized cutting on a cnc machine. Users can tip the chair forward for a rocking effect. The chair is currently on display at the ICCF new york.

House HB by Bevk Perović Arhitekti

Slovenian architects Bevk Perović Arhitekti built this house on a hilltop in the countryside close to Ljubljana. Completed in 2007, the aluminium-clad House HB features an elongated house-form containing living areas, while bedrooms and bathrooms are contained in a hidden level buried underground.

The Composition Chair by Kouichi Okamoto of Kyouei Design

Japanese designer Kouichi Okamoto of Kyouei Design has created the Composition Chair. It was created by bending aluminium wire and crossing it one by one. No bolts or welding is used at all. The tools used for this design are only a jig and a pair of pliers.

A dream in pure white: Leica M8 White Edition

When compared with the classic black and silver models in the M8 series, this special limited edition with a white leather finish is destined to be the eye-catcher of this summer. The LEICA M8 ‘White Edition’ is available in a set including a silver anodised LEICA ELMARIT-M 1:2.8/28 mm ASPH lens and strictly limited to just 275 examples. The uniqueness is further emphasised by the special serial numbers assigned exclusively to the cameras.

Tondonia Winery Pavillion by Zaha Hadid

Rafael López de Heredia Tondonia Winery is one of the oldest and more famous winery in the Spanish region of La Rioja. To celebrate their 125th anniversary they decided to rehabilitate a very old store that the winery founder took to Brussel’s World Fair in 1910 and had been disassembled ever since. In 2002 current owners (direct descendants of the founder), discovered how beautiful the old store was and decided to built an exterior volume to house the old store. This would become the future wine store and a place where visitors could taste the great wines they produce. This pavillion is only part of all the project that will include three more tasting rooms and a cleaning room. More images and architect’s description after the break.

Stanley Ruiz: ‘Anno Domini’

Designer Stanley Ruiz will has created ‘Anno Aomini’ (AD) a calendar which uses the form of a cross referring to the gregorian calendar. Stanley will be exhibiting his new works in Designboom Mart New York and the Model Citizens Exhibition during the ICCF.

Wild Etiquette Lounge by Dima Loginoff

On the 1st of February 2009, Yatzer made a presentation of the “Vassili” chair, a concept furniture designed by the young Russian industrial designer, Dima Loginoff. Three months later, another concept lounge chair is ready. The “Wild Etiquette Lounge” has a form that according to Loginoff is based on the shape of a big wave with influences by feminine curves. The seat is decorated with the classic “toile de jouy” fabric, which makes the combination of classic and futuristic shape very unique.
