Dynamic Architecture – the New BMW Museum

The new BMW Museum by Atelier Bruecknen in Munich has a modern, dynamic language: the language of the automotive world. Opened on June 21st, 2008, it sets a new standard in the realm of brand-focused museums. Along with the BMW Welt, opened in October 2007, and the BMW factory tour, the museum is the final component of the BMW Triad, where two million visitors are expected annually.

Tom Dixon will be launching a few new products in Milan next month, including the Block Table, a combination of bling, minimalism and functionality. A granite top sits atop elegant electroplated copper legs with adjustable feet to allow for uneven floors. The surface of both dining table and coffee table is heat resistant and has been treated to minimize grease marks.

Architects and designers SHH have completed a new London office interiors scheme for a private company in London’s west end, working closely with client-side design director Zeljko Popovic. The Manchester Square offices are the result of a brief to create a ‘high impact, 21st century office interior with a strong personality’ with more in common with a gentlemen’s club than a traditional office space.
